Principal Engineer-Process (Wafer Fab)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States; onsite work in a wafer fabrication facility

Annual base salary: $75,000–$232,000

What you will do

• Support wafer-fab tools and processes across areas such as photo, etch, deposition, and diffusion.
• Develop, monitor, test, and improve semiconductor products and manufacturing processes.
• Create and update process specifications and qualify new equipment.
• Improve equipment reliability, repeatability, process control, yield, cycle time, and cost.
• Lead cross-functional teams and provide subject-matter expertise in semiconductor wafer processing.
• Use SPC, data analysis, and technical presentations to monitor critical parameters and communicate results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of silicon wafer fabrication and detailed knowledge of at least one wafer-fab process module.
• Experience with SPC, DoE, Six Sigma, 8D problem solving, and advanced data analysis using Microsoft Excel or JMP.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Must provide proof of US citizenship, permanent US residency, or protected-individual status under US export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with legacy wafer fabs using 3-inch to 6-inch wafers.
• Experience in photo or etch processes.
• Experience using AI for research, data analysis, and presentations.
