Business Operations Analyst (Fintech)

What you will do

• Research, develop, and deliver special projects and strategic business initiatives under finance and senior leadership guidance.
• Retrieve, synthesize, model, and analyze data to support financial decision-making.
• Scale financial operations infrastructure across cash management, accounting, and disputes win-rate optimization.
• Track merchant reserve levels and coordinate settlement releases with transaction monitoring.
• Own receivables workflows, trace failed money movement, assess company risk exposure, and support transaction reconciliation.
• Partner with risk, legal, and customer-facing teams to improve recovery outcomes and identify product solutions for process gaps.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, business operations, or strategy and operations at a high-growth company.
• Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, research, and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to build financial models from scratch.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with minimal guidance.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.
• Flexible, adaptable approach with a growth mentality and ability to act on feedback quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, especially credit risk, collections, or fraud operations.
• Experience with ACH workflows, chargeback mechanics, or reserve management.
• SQL proficiency.
