Principal System Validation Engineer (AI Fabric Switches)

What you will do

• Develop and execute system validation tests for AI fabric switch products using data center equipment and scalable automation platforms.
• Define comprehensive validation plans and certify product compliance with customer system requirements.
• Automate IC and board testing, design experiments to root-cause unexpected behavior, and automate results and specification-compliance reporting.
• Evaluate functionality and performance requirements for AI and machine learning data center applications.
• Work directly with key customers to understand their requirements and communicate product capabilities and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience supporting or developing complex SoC or silicon products for server, storage, or networking applications.
• Strong understanding of x86 or ARM architecture, UEFI/Linux boot sequences, and high-speed signaling principles.
• Hands-on experience with PCIe, CXL, NVMe, or Ethernet, as well as silicon/system bring-up, validation, and debug in customer systems.
• Experience developing Python-based bench automation focused on efficiency, repeatability, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with protocol analyzers, in-circuit debuggers, and CPU-based tool suites, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of C or C++ for embedded firmware and device drivers.
• Familiarity with PCIe compliance standards and compliance consortiums.
• Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro or Altium.
• Experience leading and influencing teams in complex matrixed environments.
