Senior Electrical Engineer (Metal Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; on-site

Salary: $145,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and document electrical systems and components, including cables, wire harnesses, industrial control panels, and cable routing systems.
• Create specifications and test plans, then conduct system-level integration, validation, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Maintain electrical system interconnect diagrams and schematics for current and future products.
• Manage prototype electrical assembly suppliers and support supply-chain activities related to component end-of-life and obsolescence.
• Produce complete design documentation, including bills of materials, drawings, procedures, and electrical system records.
• Manage small- to mid-sized projects from concept through production while collaborating with hardware, software, process engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design and development and 5+ years of ECAD experience.
• Hands-on experience with Solidworks Electrical 3D, Solidworks-based electrical control panel and machine cable-routing layouts, and Solidworks PDM or Propel.
• Experience designing, prototyping, troubleshooting, manufacturing, or installing complex capital equipment, preferably in additive manufacturing, semiconductor, or display industries.
• Strong knowledge of automation control networks, programmable logic controllers, motion control, machine safety systems, AC/DC power distribution, machinery safety and compliance standards, and IEC 81346-1.
• Ability to work independently and hands-on while building, integrating, testing, and documenting complex electrical systems.

Nice to have

• Metal additive manufacturing experience.
• Risk analysis experience using FMEA or ISO 12100.
• Experience with EtherCAT and IO-Link.
