Senior Electrical Engineer (Hardware Design) (AI Manufacturing)

Location: Los Angeles, CA; full-time onsite presence in Hawthorne five days a week

Salary: $130,000–$200,000 per year, plus stock options

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for metal printing systems.
• Drive electrical architecture, product requirements, component selection, circuit analysis, and schematic capture.
• Prototype, bring up, debug, document, productize, manufacture, and test custom hardware.
• Use laboratory equipment, custom instrumentation, and test setups to investigate unexpected hardware behavior.
• Model and simulate circuit designs to evaluate performance.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and run projects from concept through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience designing and delivering complex electrical hardware.
• Broad knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and a first-principles approach to problem solving.
• Experience designing, developing, and testing analog and digital circuits.
• Ability to work onsite in Hawthorne five days per week, with very limited exceptions.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years of electronic product experience spanning concept through production.
• Familiarity with industrial automation technologies, robotics, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with sensors, embedded microcontrollers and firmware, FPGA hardware and software, and high-speed data acquisition.
• Experience with motion systems, scanning systems, optomechanical assemblies, and complex electromechanical systems.
