TL;DR
Vehicle Systems Engineer (Robotics): Developing and integrating autonomous electric vehicle systems for a zero-emissions freight hauler with an accent on system architecture, cross-discipline integration, safety, reliability, and fault tolerance. Focus on planning vehicle-level validation, diagnosing system-level issues, managing requirements, and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.

What you will do

  • Develop system architectures, interface definitions, integration plans, and system-level requirements for autonomous electric vehicle platforms.
  • Lead cross-discipline integration across mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
  • Analyze vehicle performance, safety, reliability, fault tolerance, and integration risks.
  • Specify and source critical components while supporting design reviews and subsystem alignment.
  • Plan and execute vehicle-level testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain requirements, test plans, technical reports, and other systems engineering documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in vehicle systems engineering, robotics platforms, or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Experience integrating systems involving mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, systems engineering, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with passenger cars, commercial trucks, robotic vehicle platforms, or vendor-delivered components.
  • Experience with chassis controls, drive-by-wire, electric powertrains, CAN, Ethernet, MATLAB/Simulink, or HIL testing.
  • Background in safety-critical systems, functional safety standards, startups, or product development.
