Test and Fill Facility I&C Engineer

Location: Kemmerer, Wyoming, United States; primarily office-based with frequent work in industrial and plant areas

What you will do

• Implement and maintain instrumentation and control system architectures, hardware, software, networking, and engineering documentation.
• Develop control strategies, logic, interlocks, alarms, safety functions, I/O lists, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and related design deliverables.
• Develop test procedures and support factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, integrated system testing, commissioning, startup, and performance testing.
• Configure and troubleshoot PLC/DCS hardware, I/O modules, field instruments, networking equipment, and control loops.
• Prepare technical specifications, oversee suppliers, review vendor deliverables, and coordinate interfaces with Natrium systems and test facilities.
• Support operations, maintenance, licensing, safety analyses, configuration control, alarm management, and continuous improvement of I&C systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant instrumentation and controls engineering experience in industrial or process facilities.
• Direct experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting PLC, DCS, or safety PLC platforms.
• Experience preparing I/O lists, loop diagrams, control logic diagrams, instrument specifications, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Ability to work in industrial environments, use required PPE, follow site safety requirements, and safely lift up to 25 pounds.
• Applicants may be subject to U.S. Government export-control review and must identify applicable U.S. citizenship or immigration status; authorization may be required for foreign nationals.

Nice to have

• Experience in nuclear, power generation, chemical processing, or other high-hazard and regulated facilities.
• Knowledge of nuclear and safety standards such as IEEE 603, IEEE 7-4.3.2, IEEE 379, IEEE 497, ASME NQA-1, or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
• Experience with high-temperature systems, sodium or liquid-metal systems, industrial communication protocols, control-system networking, alarm management, interlocks, or SIS concepts.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD and configuration-management tools.
• Experience commissioning and operating new facilities or major facility modifications.
