Electrical Engineer - Instrumentation & Controls

What you will do

• Design and test ground-up electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for industrial facilities, advanced prototypes, and R&D systems.
• Develop control panel schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O documentation, panel layouts, and harness documentation.
• Use electrical CAD tools, including EPLAN Electric P8, to create and maintain detailed engineering drawings.
• Design and support PLC-based control architectures, instrumentation, field devices, and industrial communication systems.
• Design and analyze single-phase and three-phase AC power distribution for industrial equipment and control panels.
• Support electrical infrastructure, system integration, technical documentation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with electrical design tools for control systems, such as EPLAN.
• Proficiency with EPLAN Electric P8 for schematics, control panel design, wiring diagrams, and industrial electrical documentation.
• Working knowledge of electrical architecture, circuit design, industrial instrumentation and controls, PLC automation, and industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN bus, or Ethernet/IP.
• Ability to perform trade studies, reason from first principles, and make sound engineering decisions with incomplete information.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary, with strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing electrical and control systems for industrial facilities, pilot plants, process industries, or R&D environments.
• Experience with control panel schematics, layouts, and wiring documentation.
• Familiarity with breakers, relays, transformers, three-phase power, UPS systems, batteries, generators, and critical load management.
• Hands-on experience building, wiring, or commissioning industrial electrical systems.
• Experience working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
