Safety Investigator

Location: Hybrid role based in Dallas, Texas, United States

Salary: $23.08–$24.16 per hour

What you will do

• Investigate safety incidents, member reports, account bans and appeals, fraud, and other Trust & Safety escalations.
• Respond to Safety Hotline calls, assess risk, gather information, support members, and determine escalation paths.
• Analyze evidence from multiple sources to identify patterns, emerging risks, and policy violations.
• Document cases and investigative summaries accurately while meeting service-level, quality, and productivity expectations.
• Handle sensitive and high-risk situations with sound judgment, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
• Collaborate with Legal, Product, Customer Experience, Risk, and Operations on complex cases and process improvements.

• Strong investigative, analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for sensitive and high-stress situations.
• Ability to manage multiple investigations independently while meeting quality, productivity, and SLA expectations.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with sensitive content, changing priorities, evolving policies, and new systems.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to build trusted cross-functional relationships.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• One or more years of experience conducting investigations or managing high-priority cases involving safety incidents, fraud, abuse, financial crimes, claims, law enforcement, social services, or Trust & Safety.
• Experience handling crisis situations, de-escalating difficult conversations, or supporting people in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Experience in Trust & Safety, Risk Operations, Customer Experience, Law Enforcement, Claims, or Investigations.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar case management platforms.
