SOC Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site five days per week in McLean, Virginia, United States

Salary: $96,086–$111,683 USD annually, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR tools.
• Perform initial triage and investigation of security incidents, escalating cases when needed.
• Assist with responses to phishing, malware, and suspicious network or cloud activity.
• Support incident containment and recovery activities.
• Conduct basic threat hunting and IOC analysis under senior analyst guidance.
• Maintain security documentation, playbooks, and SOPs while collaborating with IT, Cloud, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in information security, IT, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of threat detection, incident response, and networking.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Chronicle and endpoint or network security tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site five days per week in McLean, Virginia.
• Participation in E-Verify employment verification.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Exposure to Python or Bash scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence, basic forensics, or vulnerability management.
• Security+ , CEH, or similar certification.
