Cybersecurity Engineer II

Location: Onsite in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA; support for a Naval Information Warfare Center contract in Norfolk, Virginia.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor cybersecurity measures to maintain a cyber-resilient network.
• Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities, identify risks, and implement remediation or mitigation strategies.
• Maintain security controls protecting digital files and electronic infrastructure.
• Respond to computer security breaches, restore protections, and prepare required reports.
• Support cybersecurity compliance, automated software testing, AWS Cloud operations, JIRA and Confluence management, Scrum Master activities, and project support.
• Work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend support and schedule changes based on contract and mission requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a Computer Science concentration, or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy.
• Experience with Assessment and Authorization requirements.
• Position-based certification at IAM, IAT, or IASAE Level I under DoD 8570.1M, depending on tasking.
• Active Secret clearance required.
