Cybersecurity Engineer II (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite in Chesapeake, VA, USA; support for NIWC Atlantic in Norfolk, VA. Monday–Friday schedule with some weekend support required.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor cybersecurity measures to strengthen cyber defense and maintain network resilience.
• Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities, identify risks, and implement remediation or risk-mitigation strategies.
• Ensure security controls protect digital files and electronic infrastructure.
• Respond to computer security breaches, restore protections, and prepare required reports.
• Support a Navy contract covering independent validation and verification, operations, sustainment, installation, automated software testing, AWS Cloud operations, JIRA and Confluence management, cyber compliance, and project support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, or a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Three years of experience preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy, including Assessment and Authorization requirements.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Depending on PWS tasking, certification as IAM, IAT, or IASAE Level I per DoD 8570.1M.
