TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer, PCB Design (Robotics): Designing and standardizing PCB systems, component libraries, and Altium-to-PLM workflows for autonomous robotic platforms with an accent on PCB layout quality, component lifecycle management, and supply chain resilience. Focus on migrating legacy designs, qualifying alternate components, and enforcing signal integrity, power distribution, EMC, and manufacturing standards across engineering teams.

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA; hybrid work arrangement. Up to 10% travel to client and customer locations may be required, with a valid driver’s license required.

Salary: $101,000–$138,600 gross annual base pay, plus benefits.

What you will do

  • Administer and optimize Altium Designer licenses, coordinate upgrades, and manage enterprise tool requirements with IT.
  • Consolidate schematic and layout libraries into a unified Altium ecosystem connected to the PLM system.
  • Define design-to-PLM workflows and manage component creation, qualification, lifecycle tracking, and alternate-part validation.
  • Design PCB layouts, review new layouts, support cross-functional engineering teams, and migrate legacy designs into Altium.
  • Establish and enforce PCB layout, component, reliability, cost, and supply chain standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PCB layout design, component engineering, or a related hardware discipline.
  • Deep expertise in Altium Designer; familiarity with OrCAD Capture or Eagle is beneficial.
  • Experience with component engineering, part qualification, lifecycle management, and PLM-based design workflows.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, and EMC design principles.
  • Ability to manage concurrent priorities and collaborate across engineering teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with automotive-grade components, robotics, automotive, or industrial electronics.
  • Experience supporting distributed engineering teams or designing AGV, robotics, or embedded systems hardware.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, PCB manufacturing processes, or Siemens Teamcenter.
