Principal Supplier Quality Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Lead supplier and manufacturing quality activities across semiconductor wafer fabs, OSATs, PCB/PCBA vendors, substrates, interposers, probe cards, and passive component suppliers.
• Develop supplier selection, onboarding, performance-monitoring, audit, and continuous-improvement processes.
• Build data collection systems and quality analytics for monolithic, chiplet, and board products using manufacturing controls, production tests, and failure analysis data.
• Develop predictive quality and supply-chain risk models, including outlier screening, automated defect detection, trend analysis, and real-time alerts.
• Partner with R&D, NPI, product engineering, procurement, and operations teams on design for manufacturability, testability, supplier changes, and risk reviews.
• Lead quality audits, excursion management, material reviews, CAPA, and corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive supplier quality engineering experience in the semiconductor or board-level electronics industry.
• 3+ years of direct experience embedded in a high-volume advanced manufacturing operation in an engineering role.
• Experience with supplier development in Asia and global manufacturing supply chains.
• Strong knowledge of IC fabrication, chiplet packaging, SMT board assembly, testing, reliability qualification, and IPC, Telcordia, and JEDEC requirements.
• Fluent English and Mandarin required.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma or ASQ certification.
• Experience with AI/ML tools or collaborating with technical partners on model development.
