Customer Quality Engineer II (Semiconductor)

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States; domestic and international travel as needed, approximately 20%

Salary: $78,808.52–$118,212.78 annual base salary, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Serve as a point of contact for customer quality concerns and represent the customer voice by identifying recurring issues and field trends.
• Investigate product quality issues through containment, problem definition, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action implementation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Service to close escalations and prevent recurrence.
• Provide quality input for new product introduction, design reviews, process changes, change control, reliability, and manufacturability initiatives.
• Track quality KPIs, analyze defects and field failures, and prepare dashboards and reports for internal and customer reviews.
• Support continuous improvement projects, QMS maintenance, ISO audits, audit findings, and CAPA effectiveness verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–6+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, customer quality, or a related technical role in semiconductor capital equipment, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of 8D, root cause analysis, FMEA, SPC, CAPA, and structured problem-solving methods.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and/or Field Service teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive issue closure.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience with customer complaint handling, field failure analysis, and customer-facing quality processes.
• Lean, Six Sigma, APQP, or related continuous improvement experience.
• Knowledge of reliability, contamination control, cleanroom practices, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• ASQ CQE, Six Sigma, or related quality certification.
