Hardware Lab Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Set up and maintain hardware, software, firmware, application, and server environments for silicon validation and characterization.
• Perform hands-on testing and debugging of high-speed interfaces, including PCIe Gen5/6/7, CXL, Ethernet, DDR, and SerDes.
• Install and configure servers, including firmware, BIOS, operating systems, and networking.
• Manage RMA intake and triage, including inspection, electrical verification, screening, CSAM inspection, and prioritization.
• Coordinate external laboratory logistics, sample shipping, chain of custody, scheduling, and equipment distribution.
• Perform fine-pitch SMD soldering and PCBA rework while developing and maintaining lab procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–12+ years of hands-on laboratory experience supporting silicon validation or hardware development.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, BERTs, multimeters, and other high-speed test equipment.
• Experience testing high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet, or SerDes.
• Strong Python programming skills for test automation.
• Familiarity with Linux, command-line tools, third-party testing laboratories, logistics coordination, and RMA case prioritization.

Nice to have

• Post-silicon validation experience with ASICs, SoCs, retimers, or PHY products.
• Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal testing, JTAG, I2C, SPI, PCB design, schematic reading, and signal integrity.
• Experience with data center systems, ATE, production testing, compliance testing, and industry standards.
• Experience with semiconductor failure analysis, acoustic imaging, die attach inspection, delamination, void analysis, crack identification, and complete RMA lifecycle management.
