Patient Access Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Tower - Pottstown Hospital in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States. Full-time evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including every other Sunday, Saturday, and holiday.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients, including assigning accurate medical record numbers and collecting demographic and insurance information.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, including Medicare screening with Advanced Beneficiary Notice software.
• Review insurance eligibility and benefits, select insurance plan codes, and support point-of-service collections, billing, and clean claims.
• Explain consent, patient education, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other required forms; obtain signatures and document distribution.
• Process physician orders, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, and prepare statistical data and reports for Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at Tower - Pottstown Hospital in Pottstown, PA.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-supported process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
