Company
is a Series C startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.
What you will do
- Design electrical systems for reactor instrumentation, control, and power distribution from concept through detailed implementation.
- Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface definitions for sensors, control hardware, and electrical subsystems.
- Review schematics, wiring, harnesses, and control panel designs and participate in technical design reviews.
- Support hazard analyses by identifying electrical and instrumentation failure modes and mitigations.
- Support bench testing, HIL/HITL testing, hardware integration, and test campaigns.
- Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, licensing, and test teams.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience designing, analyzing, or integrating electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of DC and AC circuits, impedance, and transient behavior.
- Ability to create, read, and review electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with electrical design, simulation, or PCB layout tools and hands-on laboratory instrumentation.
- Ability to reason about failure modes and safe states and communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
Nice to have
- Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, maritime, industrial, or other regulated and safety-critical environments.
- Knowledge of fail-safe design, redundancy, voting logic, and diversity in control systems.
- Experience with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, HIL/HITL testing, automated test frameworks, or data acquisition platforms.
- Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, DOE nuclear standards, GDE-987 processes, formal design reviews, hazard analyses, or configuration-controlled documentation.
Culture & Benefits
- Work on advanced nuclear energy systems intended for terrestrial, underwater, and space use.
- Values include systems thinking, end-user focus, unconventional problem solving, stakeholder engagement, and operating effectively amid ambiguity.
- Deep work can be done remotely, while in-person collaboration and direct stakeholder interaction are emphasized.
- Compensation includes a significant stock option package in addition to salary.
