What you will do

  • Design and support delivery of MV/LV electrical distribution systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop load lists, single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Perform or support load flow, short-circuit, voltage-drop, motor-starting, harmonic, arc-flash, grounding, and protection-coordination studies.
  • Size and select transformers, switchgear, MCCs, cables, bus systems, VFDs, UPS systems, batteries, and standby generators.
  • Review vendor documentation, support installation specifications, and resolve technical questions from vendors, contractors, and field teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience, preferably in industrial, process, power generation, energy, or other complex facilities.
  • Experience with MV/LV electrical distribution systems and fundamental electrical engineering principles.
  • Experience with SKM Power Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent power system analysis software.
  • Familiarity with single-line diagrams, load lists, equipment specifications, cable schedules, and electrical layouts.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, CSA, and/or IEC codes and standards. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

  • EIT designation or active pursuit thereof.
  • Experience with MV switchgear, substations, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, standby power systems, or utility interconnection.
  • Experience with hazardous-area classification, DC systems, battery sizing, IEC 61850, or substation automation and protection systems.
  • Familiarity with nuclear facility electrical design or nuclear quality and classification requirements.
