Senior Electrical Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Salary: $144,000–$176,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of MV/LV electrical systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities.
• Develop load lists, power system studies, arc flash analyses, grounding calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules, tray routing, duct bank designs, and control schematics.
• Specify switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS systems, generators, protection relays, and hazardous-area equipment.
• Lead vendor qualification, bid evaluations, technical reviews, factory audits, and acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with I&C, civil, structural, mechanical, nuclear safety, contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience and leadership of complex MV/LV design programs.
• Advanced proficiency with SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or equivalent power system analysis software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead substation design from concept through detailed engineering.
• Deep knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, CSA, and IEC standards for industrial and process facilities.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• EIT, P.Eng., P.E., equivalent registration, or active pursuit thereof.
• Nuclear facility electrical design and nuclear classification experience, including IEEE 384 and CSA N290.7.
• Experience with seismic qualification, IEC 61850, DC systems, battery sizing, utility interconnection studies, or PPA technical interfaces.
