Mechanical Engineer, Senior - Mobile Computing Products

Location: Mississauga, Canada; hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week

Salary: $90,960–$136,440 annual, plus performance-based annual cash incentive targeted at 10% of base pay.

What you will do

• Provide post-release engineering support for mechanical issues across the enterprise mobile computing portfolio.
• Manage customer-driven requests, product enhancements, and end-of-life component support.
• Plan and execute cost-reduction, cost-avoidance, and supply chain resiliency initiatives.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing partners and suppliers to develop, test, and release optimized designs.
• Lead root-cause analysis, mechanical prototyping, design reviews, and solutions meeting enterprise durability standards.
• Manage multiple high-visibility engineering projects and communicate milestones and technical risks to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a technical field, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience designing consumer or enterprise portable electronic products.
• Experience with injection-molded plastics, die-cast metals, and precision sheet metal parts.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric or a similar advanced 3D CAD modeling tool such as SolidWorks, Fusion, NX, or CATIA.
• Understanding of DFA/DFM, tolerance analysis, and mechanical stress and vibration analysis.
• Ability to work hybrid from Mississauga with at least 3 onsite days per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Mandarin language skills, written and verbal, for collaboration with Asia-based manufacturing partners.
• Experience with opto-mechanical design, structural FEA, Mold Flow simulation, and ODM/JDM development models.
• Experience resolving complex hardware issues using 8D, Fishbone, or 5 Whys methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to provide technical direction independently in a fast-changing environment.
