Mechanical Engineer (PIC)

Annual pay range: CAD 62,600–100,000

What you will do

• Develop mechanical fixtures and test stations for photonic integrated circuit testing and assembly.
• Optimize mechanical designs to support production requirements.
• Operate in cleanroom environments while following established cleanliness protocols.
• Maintain process integrity during testing and assembly activities.
• Create detailed documentation for fixtures, assemblies, station layouts, and testing methods.
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, and technicians across multiple R&D functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably Creo or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with laboratory measurement techniques and test equipment.
• Ability to create test scripts for data collection and analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Thermal simulation experience, preferably with Ansys.
• Cleanroom laboratory experience.
• Experience designing injection-molded plastic, sheet-metal, machined, or die-cast metal components.
