TL;DR
Government Affairs Manager (Advanced Nuclear Energy): Developing and executing Antares’ Washington, DC engagement strategy with an accent on federal stakeholders, Congress, defense agencies, NASA, and the Department of Energy. Focus on creating influence plans, shaping legislative authorities, monitoring policy events, and advising leadership on actions that advance advanced nuclear energy and federal business opportunities.

Location: Washington, DC; hybrid work arrangement. The role requires attendance at relevant events in Washington, DC, travel to regulatory locations as needed, and eligibility to meet U.S. Government export regulations.

Salary: $135,000–$185,000 per year, plus a significant stock option package.

hirify.global is a Series B startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain prioritized engagement plans for federal agencies and Congress.
  • Identify hirify.global’ objectives for each federal stakeholder and determine whom to engage to achieve them.
  • Develop requests for congressional authorities through defense, NASA, energy, and homeland security legislation.
  • Attend Congressional hearings, think tank events, speeches, and other policy events, then brief leadership on their significance and recommended follow-up.
  • Recommend visits and travel opportunities for meetings with Pentagon, NASA, and Department of Energy leaders.
  • Help plan how the CEO allocates time during Washington, DC visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of public policy experience in Washington, DC, ideally with the Pentagon, NASA, Department of Energy, or Department of Homeland Security.
  • Experience developing and executing influence plans focused on federal stakeholders.
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex science, technology, defense, and engineering topics clearly.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary and travel to regulatory locations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. authorizations under export regulations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. military, nuclear energy, space, NASA, the lunar economy, and venture-backed startups.
  • Ability to obtain a Q or Top Secret clearance.
