VP, Government Relations (Aerospace): Defining and leading Apex’s government engagement strategy across federal, state, and local stakeholders with an accent on aerospace policy, defense acquisition, and commercial space infrastructure. Focus on building senior government relationships, shaping legislative and regulatory positions, and coordinating executive engagement to support business growth.
Location: Hybrid in Washington, D.C. or Los Angeles, United States. Travel is required as needed for customer, government, and industry engagements.
Salary: $240,000–$300,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Define and execute government relations strategy across federal, state, and local stakeholders.
- Build relationships with government officials, agency leaders, legislative staff, regulators, and industry partners across defense, civil, and commercial space.
- Support customer engagement and strategic growth initiatives in partnership with business development and executive leadership.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, budgetary, and policy developments relevant to and its customers.
- Shape policy positions, messaging, briefing materials, talking points, white papers, and executive communications.
- Advise leadership on political engagement strategy and the priorities of ’s PAC.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in government relations, legislative affairs, public policy, business development, or related roles in aerospace, defense, national security, or adjacent industries.
- Experience with U.S. congressional defense and intelligence committees and/or the Executive Branch, particularly acquisitions.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Government budgeting, acquisition, and policymaking processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build senior-level relationships across government and industry.
- Strong strategic judgment, written and verbal communication skills, and experience preparing executive- and government-facing materials.
- U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data; an active TS/SCI security clearance or willingness to apply for one is required.
