Salary: $75,000–$160,000 annually

What you will do

  • Conduct environmental assessments and support Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Reports under NRC and NEPA requirements.
  • Integrate environmental considerations into nuclear facility layouts, processes, technologies, design, and licensing activities.
  • Develop strategies to minimize impacts on air, water, soil, and waste management.
  • Prepare environmental permit applications for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and data analysis to support compliance and operational improvements.
  • Provide technical expertise during regulatory inspections, audits, and public hearings, and train staff on environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to perform trade studies and make recommendations using first-principles reasoning.
  • Strong knowledge of NRC, EPA, NEPA, and other applicable environmental regulations and standards.
  • Experience with environmental modeling software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for regulatory documentation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one.
  • Familiarity with nuclear facility licensing and design processes.
  • Advanced degree or evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects, portfolios, or completed products.
  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering or highly technical environment.
