Principal Engineer - Digital Design (ASIC)

Location: Onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; full-time work from office required

Annual base salary: $75,000–$232,000

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of integrated circuits featuring embedded microcontrollers, cryptographic algorithms, and supporting hardware, firmware, or software.
• Design, verify, and bring up hardware modules by implementing test cases, debugging code, and collaborating with regional and cross-functional teams.
• Support lint, clock-domain-crossing, synthesis, and design-for-test integration activities.
• Work with the physical design team on static timing analysis, power, floorplanning, IO pad ring design, and logical issues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience and a BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience developing and debugging multiple IC products.
• Strong ASIC design background, including architecture and microarchitecture development, synthesis, static timing analysis closure, DFT flows, or FPGA and ASIC development.
• Knowledge of cryptographic and security design concepts and countermeasures.
• Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday for eight hours per day.

Nice to have

• Experience with low-power design techniques and security or automotive markets.
• C, Verilog/VHDL, Unix/Linux shell programming, Perl, Python, Ruby, Makefiles, and revision management.
• Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
