Senior Associate, Transmission & Interconnection (Energy Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Prepare utility and grid operator submittals, track study milestones, maintain records, and support negotiation processes.
• Maintain power system models across regional grid operator systems and lead power flow studies for load capacity screening, network upgrade cost estimation, and reliability analysis.
• Direct system stability, protection, and dynamic model studies as required.
• Prepare decision-ready technical reports and translate study findings for engineering, business, and executive audiences.
• Coordinate interconnection timelines, cost exposures, and technical requirements across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Drive workflow automation and adoption of modern software tools to increase study throughput.

Requirements

• BSEE from an ABET-accredited program with a power emphasis.
• 5–8 years of experience in power systems, transmission planning, and interconnection as a consultant, ISO/utility engineer, or in an equivalent role.
• Proficiency with power system modeling and simulation software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, or equivalent.
• Hands-on or oversight experience validating dynamic models through comparative assessment against PSCAD or EMTP simulations.
• Strong analytical, report-writing, data analytics, cost modeling, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with workflow automation and application programming interfaces.

Nice to have

• ISO/RTO, consulting, or utility experience with exposure to PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, or southeastern U.S. organized markets.
• Experience with large-load or HPC/data center power requirements.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers on interconnection studies.
• Experience presenting study findings and negotiation strategies to senior leadership.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
