Salary: $140,000–$185,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Lead mechanical design for major subsystems, balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
  • Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar tools.
  • Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, FEA, CFD, and hand calculations to validate designs.
  • Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and design refinement based on results.
  • Partner with electrical, manufacturing, systems, and supplier teams on integration, DFM, process selection, and quality control.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to mechanical design standards, documentation, and configuration management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Experience delivering production-ready hardware and strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
  • Expertise in CAD and mechanical drafting standards, including SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar tools.
  • Experience performing or overseeing FEA and CFD analyses.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with aerospace, energy, defense, or other high-performance and safety-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA, reliability engineering, PLM/PDM tools, and design-control processes.
  • Hands-on prototyping, testing, validation, and root-cause investigation experience.
