hirify.global is developing the PWR-5 test reactor and establishing the operational foundation for a fleet of reactors intended for global deployment.

What you will do

  • Monitor, operate, and control reactor systems during startup, normal operation, and shutdown.
  • Execute fueling operations, including fuel handling, loading, core management, radiological controls, and criticality safety activities.
  • Perform and document surveillances, plant walkdowns, and equipment checks.
  • Respond to abnormal and emergency plant conditions using approved operating procedures.
  • Support the development, review, and validation of plant operating procedures as the PWR-5 design matures.
  • Maintain configuration control and nuclear quality assurance documentation while supporting inspections, audits, licensing activities, training, and simulator exercises.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on reactor operations experience and demonstrated proficiency in licensed or certified operator duties.
  • Experience operating pressurized water reactors, pool-type reactors, or BWRs.
  • Direct experience with fueling operations and related radiological and criticality safety controls.
  • Working knowledge of reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, plant systems, nuclear QA programs, technical specifications, and NRC or equivalent regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to execute procedures rigorously, maintain high attention to detail, and apply a questioning attitude.
  • Ability to work on-site in Bryan, Texas, in a lean, fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

  • NRC Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator license, DOE-facility certification, or an international equivalent.
  • Experience with small modular reactors, research reactors, or naval reactors.
  • Experience with startup and commissioning of new reactor facilities.
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections or licensing submittals.
