TL;DR
Nuclear Operations Lead (Advanced Nuclear Energy): Leading the operational programs required to deploy, start, and operate Antares microreactors as complete systems with an accent on reactor operations, operator training, staffing, procedures, and alignment with design and safety bases. Focus on connecting technical, regulatory, and operational requirements, coordinating with stakeholders, and improving the scalability and repeatability of reactor deployments.

Location: Idaho Falls, United States. Applicants must meet U.S. Government export-control requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year, plus a significant stock option package.

What you will do

  • Lead the Nuclear Operations organization and ensure safe, efficient operation of reactor experiments, plant facilities, test reactors, and deployed reactors.
  • Develop and deploy operational programs aligned with design bases, safety bases, and achievable real-world requirements.
  • Identify staffing needs and develop procedures, personnel, and programs for successful reactor operation.
  • Build nuclear training programs for operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Drive technical discussions, reviews, and working groups with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide operational feedback to engineering and program teams to improve deployment scalability and repeatability.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated technical environment.
  • Experience working across multiple disciplines to deliver complex systems or projects.
  • Ability to connect technical, regulatory, and operational requirements into executable plans.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with precision and rigor.
  • Strong technical communication skills for engaging internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Eligibility under U.S. Government export regulations is required.

Nice to have

  • BS, MS, or PhD in nuclear, mechanical, chemical, aerospace, or related engineering.
  • Experience with reactor operations, startup, commissioning, or deployment.
  • Familiarity with nuclear safety and compliance programs.
  • Experience working with customers, regulators, or external technical partners.
  • Experience in the U.S. Navy nuclear program, national laboratories, or the commercial nuclear industry.
