Accounting Manager (Construction)

Location: On-site at Robot Ranch in Austin, Texas; candidates outside commuting distance must be willing to relocate to Austin

What you will do

• Own the monthly close, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor records, billing, and collections.
• Maintain accounting records across construction projects, government contracts, intercompany activity, and international entities.
• Coordinate with external accounting, tax, audit, payroll, and compliance providers.
• Improve accounting controls, processes, and documentation as the company scales.
• Lead accounting data cleanup and support migration to a new ERP system while resolving issues with finance and operating teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience managing monthly close and preparing financial statements.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with underlying accounting data.
• Willingness to relocate to Austin, Texas if not within commuting distance.
• Willingness to work extended hours when needed to support critical deadlines.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or public accounting experience.
• Experience in construction, project-based accounting, government contracting, or another operationally complex business.
• Experience with intercompany and international accounting.
• Experience implementing or migrating accounting or ERP systems.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition, cost accounting, and project-level financial reporting.
