Recycling Plant Operator (Copper Recycling)

What you will do

• Operate copper shredding, sorting, baling, conveyor, pump, filter, and hydrometallurgical processing equipment.
• Inspect, sort, grade, and process incoming copper scrap while removing contaminants.
• Record production data, material metrics, and equipment health in digital dashboards and software tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, wear-part replacement, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Program and operate CNC equipment for localized machining, tooling adjustments, and part fabrication.
• Collaborate with engineering on improvements to throughput, yield, and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy assembly environments.
• Ability to follow SOPs and environmental, health, and safety procedures, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, and Job Safety Analysis.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify machine faults using sight and sound.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work physically demanding 12-hour shifts involving standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and PAPR respirators where required.
