Chemical Operator

hirify.global is localizing the battery supply chain through battery recovery, reuse, recycling, energy storage, and production of battery materials in the United States.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, inspect, start up, shut down, and adjust equipment on a continuously running chemical production line.
• Operate process equipment including tanks, pumps, filters, heat exchangers, electrodeposition machines, wastewater treatment systems, centrifuges, kilns, conveyance systems, evaporators, crystallizers, mills, and mixers.
• Analyze process trends such as temperature, pressure, pH, and flow, and respond to deviations to maintain safe conditions and product specifications.
• Collect routine product samples, submit them for analysis, and verify results against expected parameters.
• Identify and remedy unsafe conditions, report unresolved hazards, and maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to execute and communicate instructions across shifts.

Requirements

• Basic working knowledge of chemical plant operations and process equipment; six months of experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures precisely while maintaining situational awareness and sound judgment.
• Willingness to escalate issues early and respectfully challenge unsafe conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and work in a multilevel industrial facility.
• Ability to work for up to 12 hours in a PAPR and safely handle chemicals, industrial equipment, and changing environmental conditions.
• Ability to bend, twist, lift, and carry materials and tools weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
