Head of Manufacturing (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; onsite five days a week

Salary: $200,000–$270,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead production ramp and high-volume manufacturing operations for autonomous freight vehicles.
• Manage contract manufacturing partners and improve quality, throughput, cost, and schedule performance.
• Own factory floor planning, line layout, production processes, and scalable manufacturing systems.
• Lead vehicle retrofit, upgrade, service, maintenance, and complex hardware repair programs.
• Define build documentation, manufacturing procedures, quality processes, and verification standards.
• Partner with engineering, programs, fleet operations, supply chain, and safety teams to move vehicles from design into reliable production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including leadership in vehicle or complex hardware production scaling.
• Experience building and running manufacturing organizations in automotive, EV, autonomous vehicle, robotics, or complex hardware environments.
• Deep experience with contract manufacturing partners, multi-vendor production networks, quality teams, and quality management systems.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle electronics integration, harnessing, sensor mounting, subsystem verification, and safety-critical production.
• Experience leading builds, retrofits, NPI efforts, manufacturing ramps, cost improvements, efficiency gains, and production scalability initiatives.
