Senior Software Engineer - Virtualization and SIL Integration (Automotive)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States. The position is not eligible for relocation benefits; relocation costs are the candidate’s responsibility.

What you will do

• Lead the development and integration of Software-in-the-Loop co-simulation components for propulsion-system testing.
• Create and maintain virtual controller, sensor, actuator, plant, RTOS, HWIO, and communication models.
• Integrate controller and subsystem models into dynamic virtual simulation and test environments.
• Deliver high-quality simulation environments on each software development cycle and maintain release documentation.
• Provide technical support, user-testing assistance, and troubleshooting for released SIL co-simulations.
• Support local releases and automated testing deployments on cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of integration experience.
• 3+ years of experience with virtualization and Software-in-the-Loop simulation for propulsion systems.
• Experience with CoSimulation, Level 3 ECU development, embedded C, GNU compiler tools, GDB, Eclipse, or VS Code.
• Experience with internal combustion engine and/or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, SPI, automotive Ethernet, and Windows PowerShell, Linux Bash, or Python.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a related engineering or computer science discipline.
• Experience modeling electric or hybrid propulsion systems using MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, GT-POWER, Amesim, or CarSim.
• Experience with software-defined vehicles, AUTOSAR, ETAS MDA, INCA, FMI, or SSP.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux development, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Artifactory.
