Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Integrated Subsystems

Location: On-site in Portland, Oregon, United States. Relocation assistance is available if needed.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year, plus company equity.

What you will do

• Develop, document, and improve manufacturing and test processes for integrated electromechanical assemblies and pressure vessels.
• Develop or procure tooling, rigging, and lift fixtures, and establish safe heavy-lift procedures and production workspace safety features.
• Collaborate with R&D and Design Engineering to transition new products into production through design for manufacturability, testability, and traceability.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics on inventory control, kanban systems, vendor selection, component handling, and make-versus-buy analysis.
• Lead manufacturing troubleshooting, yield improvement, cost reduction, and resolution of technical production challenges.
• Define the manufacturing strategy and roadmap, including facilities planning, equipment selection, workflow optimization, and production scale-up.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing, including direct experience with integrated electromechanical subsystems.
• Proven ability to deliver production results on schedule and manage projects within budget.
• Proficiency in design for manufacturing and process development for complex assemblies.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, design of experiments, and process improvement.
• Experience developing or improving acceptance and test procedures, including test workflow optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001.

Nice to have

• Experience designing tooling, rigging, and lift fixtures for safe and efficient production.
• Experience building, leading, and mentoring engineering teams in a scaling production environment.
• Experience with integrated electrical testing, leak testing, high-voltage electronic checkouts, and mechanical proof testing.
• Experience in ESD-compliant or ISO-compliant production environments and across both prototyping/R&D and scaled production.
