Frontend Engineer (React Native)

Location: On-site at the New York City office in SoHo, United States

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead high-impact frontend initiatives with product, design, and engineering leadership.
• Own and evolve the architecture of web and mobile applications, focusing on performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Define standards for frontend quality, scalability, developer experience, and design system consistency.
• Translate complex product and design ideas into intuitive user interfaces.
• Own the React Native release process, including versioning, builds, app store submissions, and post-release monitoring.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote best practices in tooling, testing, CI/CD, and code quality.

Requirements

• 7–9 years of experience leading complex frontend projects at scale.
• 3–4 years of deep experience with React Native and Expo, including shipping high-quality mobile applications.
• Experience shaping frontend architecture and technical strategy for consumer-facing products.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and creating organization-wide knowledge-sharing frameworks.
• Strong collaboration and cross-functional influence across engineering, design, and product teams.
• Experience with design systems, component libraries, and cross-platform interfaces.

• Experience with consumer, social, or marketplace products, particularly products focused on real-world communities.
