Director, Preconstruction (Data Center)

What you will do

• Lead preconstruction diligence, including constructability reviews, site constraints, and infrastructure alignment.
• Own project budgets, cost models, schedules, and ongoing tracking of pricing and readiness assumptions.
• Develop procurement strategies for major equipment and materials, accounting for supply-chain volatility and long-lead items.
• Evaluate construction approaches and sequencing to optimize delivery timelines and reduce risk.
• Conduct subcontractor interviews and prequalification while developing trade coverage and engagement strategies.
• Prepare scopes of work, bid packages, and RFP documentation, and coordinate the transition from design and permitting into formal construction contracting.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management for data center, industrial, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading at least one complete project lifecycle as the accountable owner.
• Expertise in budgeting, scheduling, procurement planning, and construction readiness.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Experience coordinating with finance, sales, engineering, design, construction, subcontractors, and local permitting authorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Excel, and construction estimating platforms.
