TL;DR

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; flexible hybrid workplace model

Salary: $191,000–$362,000 CAD annually, plus equity grants and other rewards.

hirify.global develops photonic computing and data center infrastructure, including the 3D-stacked Passage photonics engine for AI and HPC workloads.

What you will do

  • Own the digital architecture of the Passage product from initial concept through high-volume production.
  • Architect system-level digital designs integrating high-speed drivers and receivers, SerDes, ADC/DAC, photonic modulators, and detectors.
  • Collaborate with semiconductor customers, vendors, product teams, and technical program managers throughout product development.
  • Define product and technology roadmaps, design methodologies, and verification strategies.
  • Work with RTL, design verification, test, and validation engineers to implement blocks and validate hardware against simulations.
  • Author, review, and validate architectural specifications while identifying risks, improvements, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience and a Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of power-efficient digital design flows for high-speed AMS electronics, preferably involving photonic communication channels.
  • Proven experience delivering high-volume silicon and understanding the silicon product development flow.
  • Experience designing digital circuits for high-speed analog or photonic links, including device bring-up, control, and digital signal processing.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer communication skills, with a record of timely responses and positive feedback.
  • Capacity to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of the SerDes PCS layer, equalization, and forward-error-correction schemes.
  • Experience with CAD tools, SPICE simulators, IBIS-AMI simulators, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Ability to collaborate across digital, analog, photonic, software, test, and validation disciplines.
  • Data-driven, analytical, process-oriented, innovative, and adaptable approach to technical problem-solving.
