Senior NPU Architect (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 USD per year or $175,000–$245,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Define specifications, architecture, and micro-architecture for NPU modules including in-memory compute units, on-chip networks, and memory orchestration units.
• Model architecture modules in a C++ simulation framework to validate functional implementations.
• Collaborate with design verification engineers on testing strategies and infrastructure.
• Analyze architecture performance and efficiency with software teams and other architects across LLM, diffusion, CNN, and other AI/ML workloads.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and guide architectural decisions for future AI accelerator generations.

Requirements

• BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience; a Ph.D. with 2–4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Understanding of computer architecture, digital design, and micro-architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms, frameworks, and workloads.
• Programming experience in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with HDLs such as Verilog or SystemVerilog.
