Sr. Director of Commercial and Legal Affairs (SaaS)

Location: Fully remote, US-based

Salary: $210,000–$264,000 base pay per year

What you will do

• Lead the commercial contracting function and own complex, high-value enterprise and strategic transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS agreements, MSAs, SOWs, partnership, channel, reseller, professional services, and consulting agreements.
• Advise on global privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR, CCPA, data protection agreements, and privacy terms.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Compliance on product development, AI and machine learning, data use, intellectual property, open source, and regulatory issues.
• Develop commercial playbooks, templates, policies, negotiation frameworks, and AI-enabled legal workflows.
• Lead, mentor, and develop legal professionals while supporting cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Requirements

• J.D. degree and active U.S. bar membership in good standing.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including complex technology transactions, enterprise SaaS agreements, and strategic partnerships.
• Meaningful in-house legal experience, preferably at a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
• Experience advising on global privacy and data protection laws, commercial agreements, and product offerings.
• Experience advising Product and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Prior experience managing, mentoring, or developing legal team members, with strong business judgment and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting enterprise sales motions, partner and channel relationships, and global commercial operations.
• Familiarity with AI legal, privacy, and commercial issues, or demonstrated ability to build expertise quickly.
