Staff Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: On-site in LA or Palo Alto, United States; headquarters in Venice, California.

Salary: $210K–$250K per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Own and drive software products from design through development, testing, and production.
• Build consumer and merchant products supporting robot loading, delivery tracking, and robot unlocking.
• Develop order-ingestion integrations with ordering platforms and custom systems.
• Build backend services for automated delivery-management decisions based on user behavior, supply and demand, regulations, and sidewalk conditions.
• Develop internal tools and device-infrastructure services for robot operations, telemetry, health, battery, and location data.
• Work with product managers and cross-functional teams, structure projects for junior engineers, and report on impact.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing and leading platform features and services, including deployment in AWS.
• 3+ years supporting business-critical production services.
• 3+ years of experience with Go and strong SQL database fundamentals.
• 2+ years with message-queue or pub/sub frameworks such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes resources and Helm charts.
• Experience with Terraform and TypeScript.
• Experience working in a startup environment.
