Building Senior Commissioning Project Manager

Location: Remote, United States. Approximately 30%–40% travel to local and national commissioning sites is required.

Salary: $135,000–$180,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses and a U.S.-based benefits package.

What you will do

• Lead building commissioning projects from pre-construction through close-out, managing scope, schedules, budgets, quality, deliverables, and client communication.
• Coordinate clients, contractors, vendors, owners, and internal project stakeholders as the primary project contact.
• Review project requirements, designs, plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and integrated systems tests.
• Coordinate site observations, commissioning testing, issue resolution, warranty walkthroughs, seasonal testing, and project close-out documentation.
• Direct, coach, and support a small team of commissioning professionals, including junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 10+ years of equivalent MEP construction, commissioning, and project management experience.
• Required project management and field experience, including reviewing construction drawings and advising on technical requirements.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards, building automation systems, local energy codes, and LEED commissioning requirements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication, client service, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel approximately 30%–40% to project sites.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments, including climbing stairs or ladders and occasionally moving materials up to 30 pounds.

Nice to have

• Project management certification.
• Professional Engineering license or building commissioning certification.
• Experience with CxAlloy or similar commissioning software.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety training.
