Infrastructure & Capital Projects - Lab Construction Manager, ANS

Location: Wilmington, DE, United States; hybrid work with a mix of remote work, onsite client work, and work in an hirify.global office or center.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead construction and renovation projects for QC laboratories, pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities, cleanrooms, manufacturing support areas, and other regulated life sciences environments.
• Manage field execution from project planning through turnover, maintaining scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client alignment.
• Coordinate engineering, quality, validation, commissioning, EHS, operations, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Oversee contractor performance, field resources, construction sequencing, site logistics, walk-downs, readiness reviews, safety audits, and coordination meetings.
• Apply technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC controls, electrical systems, clean utilities, laboratory gases, pressure cascades, HEPA filtration, and cleanroom infrastructure.
• Identify risks, resolve field issues, develop recovery strategies, assess budget impacts, and coordinate commissioning, qualification, validation readiness, punch lists, documentation turnover, and system startup.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or a high school diploma/GED with equivalent construction management experience.
• At least 10 years of construction management experience in complex construction environments.
• Experience supporting regulated life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, cleanroom, GMP, or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience managing multiple contractors, field teams, priorities, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations.
• Technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC controls, electrical systems, clean utilities, laboratory gases, pressure cascades, HEPA filtration, laboratory equipment installation, commissioning support, and construction execution.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering QC, analytical, microbiology, or pharmaceutical laboratories, cleanrooms, or GMP facilities.
• OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with shutdowns, outages, tie-ins, phased construction, and work in occupied or operational facilities.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety, job hazard analysis, contractor safety management, commissioning, qualification, validation, and turnover documentation.
