Company

hirify.global is developing electrified, digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Define and maintain OBD requirements for IUMPR performance, including monitor enable conditions, execution criteria, and numerator/denominator logic.
  • Develop monitor strategies that improve execution frequency, readiness completion, statistical coverage, and regulatory compliance across real-world operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with system, calibration, software, architecture, and validation teams on electrified powertrain and SDV diagnostic strategies.
  • Analyze vehicle and HIL/test data to identify monitor performance gaps, compliance risks, and low execution rates.
  • Define drive cycles, acceptance criteria, test cases, validation approaches, and data evaluation methods for IUMPR compliance.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and support technical documentation, reporting, audit preparation, and release readiness across prototype and serial development.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, technology, IT systems, computer science, mechatronics, controls, or a related field, preferably electrical, automotive, or systems engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, emissions, OBD calibration, or requirements engineering, with a focus on OBD monitoring performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with IUMPR concepts, OBDII regulations, monitor execution strategies, readiness behavior, diagnostic monitor requirements, and regulatory thresholds.
  • Understanding of BEV/EREV monitor availability, drive-cycle coverage, readiness completion, and software-defined vehicle architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS INCA, CANoe/CANalyzer, CANape, and requirements or traceability tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion.
  • Strong analytical, communication, ownership, structured-thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Culture & Benefits

  • Opportunity to build new vehicle products and a company from the ground up.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and income protection insurance plans.
  • 401(k) with employer matching and immediate vesting.
  • 20 days of planned PTO, 40 hours of unplanned PTO, and 14 company or floating holidays annually.
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, plus paid leave for bereavement, jury duty, voting time, and military leave.
