Senior Component HIL Simulation and Integration Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Senior Component HIL Simulation and Integration Engineer (Automotive/Embedded): Creating hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments to enable development, verification, and validation of embedded controllers for battery and electric propulsion systems with an accent on plant model development, integration, and multi-domain HIL benches. Focus on designing simulation models, tuning test environments based on system requirements, and leading the rollout of hardware/model strategies.

Location: Hybrid: Must report to Milford, MI three times per week at minimum

What you will do

• Develop, deploy, and maintain HIL, SIL, and Virtual HIL test environments for embedded controllers.
• Create and maintain simulation models for plants, sensors, actuators, and serial data communication.
• Collaborate with software development and calibration stakeholders to identify and implement customer solutions.
• Root cause unexpected test results and provide technical support for test environment users.
• Lead a small team and coordinate model/hardware rollout strategies to support new features.
• Benchmark and adopt next-generation simulation technology and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Computer).
• 5+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in simulation and testing of electronic control modules.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, and real-time simulation tools.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, SPI, and Ethernet.
• Programming skills in Python and C/C++.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of overall engineering experience.
• Experience with ETAS INCA, Lauterbach, or CANalyzer.
• Familiarity with GT Suite, CarSim, or Amesim.
• Experience in software-in-the-loop (SIL) methodology development.
