TL;DR
Senior Component HIL Simulation and Integration Engineer (Automotive): Creating and deploying hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test environments for embedded controllers and calibrations across battery, electrification, engine, transmission, chassis, and brake systems with an accent on multi-domain simulation, plant models, and controller integration. Focus on correlating simulation environments with experimental data, troubleshooting test results, coordinating model and hardware rollouts, and leading technically complex projects.

Location: Hybrid role requiring attendance at the Milford, Michigan site at least three times per week. The role may be eligible for relocation benefits. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship; candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Knowledge of automotive communication technologies including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and SPI.
  • Programming experience with Python and C/C++, version control with Git or Bitbucket, and automation with Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of vehicle motion or high-voltage battery control systems and experience leading complex projects.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with GT-SUITE, CarSim, Amesim, ETAS INCA, Lauterbach, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, or related HIL tools.
  • Experience developing real-time control algorithms, embedded controls software, automated build processes, or software code generation.
  • Experience with SIL/HIL methodology deployment, event-driven co-simulation, software integration verification and validation, or production vehicle programs.

Culture & Benefits

  • Inclusive work environment that values collaboration, innovation, learning, and diverse perspectives.
  • Flexible collaboration through a combination of on-site workspaces and virtual connection platforms.
