Backend Software Engineer (Aerospace Communications)

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance solver components that compute optimal solutions across diverse problem domains.
• Improve runtime efficiency, scalability, robustness, and reliability as system complexity and load increase.
• Apply mathematical programming and combinatorial optimization techniques to real-time beam hopping and dynamic resource allocation in satellite communication systems.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain core software for the Spacetime team.
• Manage project priorities, timelines, and deliverables while contributing to evolving technical initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and experience with one or more of C++, Java, Rust, or Golang.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and numerical computation.
• Experience with numerical optimization, mathematical programming, or solver development, including LP/MIP/QP solvers, gradient-based methods, or metaheuristics.
• Experience designing performance-critical or large-scale systems, with familiarity with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, distributed compute environments, performance profiling, numerical accuracy, and complex computational debugging.
