Staff Backend Engineer (Rust/Solana)

Location: Remote within North America

hirify.global builds developer infrastructure that powers crypto applications on the Solana blockchain, used by customers including Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom.

What you will do

• Own a core infrastructure system such as Gatekeeper, Data Streaming, Historical APIs, or Account Index.
• Design, build, and release performance-sensitive products for Solana developers.
• Profile, benchmark, and optimize production systems for latency and throughput.
• Collaborate with staff engineers, founders, and engineering leadership on architecture and product direction.
• Improve observability, incident response, and operational reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience shipping production systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Rust, C++, or Go; strong Rust experience is preferred.
• Strong systems-level intuition and experience debugging or optimizing latency-sensitive and high-throughput systems.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end with minimal direction.
• Experience with operational excellence, reliability, and customer impact in production engineering environments.
• Remote work must be performed from North America.

Nice to have

• Deep Rust experience in a production, performance-critical environment.
• Experience with distributed systems, storage engines, or streaming infrastructure.
• Familiarity with flamegraphs, perf, or valgrind.
• Interest in Solana, blockchain infrastructure, or real-time financial systems.
• On-call experience and operational ownership of production services.
