Industrial Electrician (Mining)

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, controls, and components in an active open-pit mining and processing environment.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions with test equipment, identify root causes, and complete safe corrective repairs.
• Work primarily with 3-phase 480V systems and occasionally with 4,160V and 13,800V systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep electrical systems reliable and compliant.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to support continuous mining and processing activities.
• Follow safety procedures and use required PPE when working around hazardous materials and demanding outdoor conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of electrician experience, preferably in industrial, mining, or heavy manufacturing environments.
• MSHA certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, drawings, and diagrams and use hand tools, power tools, and precision electrical testing instruments.
• Strong independent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to walk long distances over rough terrain, climb ladders and structures, lift at least 50 pounds, work in extreme weather, and wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience with rectifiers and medium- to high-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical codes and standards beyond NEC and MSHA.
• Experience performing electrical repairs in remote, rugged, or outdoor environments.
