Medium Voltage Distribution Electrician

Location: Onsite in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Compressed Shift 5 schedule: daytime hours from approximately 6 AM to 6 PM, Sunday–Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays.

Salary: $62,090–$120,110 USD annual target compensation for an hourly role.

What you will do

• Assemble, operate, inspect, test, maintain, and repair medium-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot wiring, switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, generators, backup systems, and variable frequency drives.
• Interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, and electrical blueprints.
• Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, Meggers, high-pot testers, ground fault detectors, VLF equipment, and IR cameras to diagnose faults.
• Install electrical components, deploy upgrades, commission new facilities equipment, and coordinate orders for replacement parts.
• Document and escalate problems, respond to fault requests, recommend reliability improvements, and maintain environmental and safety compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of industrial medium-voltage experience and three years of general electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to obtain CPR/AED training.
• Ability to work onsite in heavy personal protective equipment, including Level 4 arc-flash protection, in high temperatures.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lb and pull 250 lb at least once per day.
• Experience with industrial electrical facility systems, including distribution systems up to 15kV, switchgear, generators, and variable frequency drives.

Nice to have

• Experience with NEC 70, NFPA 70B, and NFPA 70E standards.
• Three or more years of electrical maintenance and facilities troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to recognize equipment deficiencies and take corrective action.
