Electrician, Operations (AI)

Location: On-site in Memphis, Tennessee; this is not a remote or hybrid role.

What you will do

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair in-service substations, distribution systems, and campus electrical equipment.
• Perform medium-voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV, including isolation, grounding, zero-energy verification, and restoration.
• Maintain and test breakers, transformers, switches, relays, buswork, control systems, and station batteries.
• Respond to outages, faults, alarms, and call-outs; restore service and document incidents.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues using schematics, one-lines, switching orders, and common test tools.
• Coordinate planned and emergency switching and clearances with operators, engineers, and utility crews while following LOTO, grounding, clearance, and PPE procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of experience working as a licensed electrician.
• Medium-voltage electrical experience, including switching and operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site in Memphis, TN.
• Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and with medium- and high-voltage equipment.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance technology.
• Journeyman or master electrician license.
• Switching and operations experience on systems up to 161 kV in substations, industrial plants, or utilities.
• Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems.
• Experience reading drawings and one-lines and using electrical test tools.
